All too often I go into a Lab and see the older style Fume Cupboards that we use to make & install back in the 70’s & 80’s when the Fume Cupboard Standards (AS2243.8) where somewhat less stringent; when Workplace OH&S regulations where just about nonexistent.

Nowadays it is paramount that all employees (and Students) in any Laboratory environment are protected from the hazardous fumes generated during the Scientific Experiments being conducted, therefore over the years the Australian Standards on Fume Cupboards are continually being upgraded to ensure complete Safety in the Workplace.
